It is possible an 87-year-old man was fatally assaulted on Noosa’s tourist strip by more than one person.
Police have yet to charge anyone over the death of John Kerr while he was on a morning walk near Hastings St on Sunday, June 18.

A 27-year-old Gympie man arrested soon after Kerr was found critically injured remains in custody after being charged with the separate alleged assault of a 69-year-old man on Hastings St about the same time.
Police previously revealed Kerr was found about 6am with severe head injuries and died at the scene, despite the efforts of the public and paramedics.
On Wednesday, investigators released security camera footage of potential witnesses — a man walking on a pathway near the crime scene and the occupants of three cars in the vicinity — who they had yet to interview.
The vehicles are a white Toyota hatchback, a green Holden hatchback, and a dark-coloured sedan being driven along Hastings St before the incident.
“We are hoping to speak to those people as witnesses. The occupants of those vehicles and this gentleman have yet to come forward to speak to us,” Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield.
Police have stressed those people are not believed to be involved in the attacks, and may have been tourists who have since left the region.
Mansfield said their statements will “form part of the picture”.
“We want to make sure we have the full picture for completeness,” he said.
“It’s important we speak to as many people as we can.
“We want to ensure for the Kerr family that we’re putting our best foot forward and also for our brief of evidence to withstand the scrutiny of the Supreme Court.”
The 27-year-old man remains a person of interest, Mansfield said.
Asked if a second person may have been involved, the detective did not rule out the possibility.
“We don’t have tunnel vision,” he said.
“We’re still investigating and keeping an open mind.
“We are not ruling out that there are other avenues that we have not finished yet.
“We haven’t spoken to every person.”
